When is bowling not about
bowling? When it helps match Tri-county children with a Big Brother or Sister.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the annual fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters
of the Carolina Youth Development Center, is one of the largest community-wide
events in Charleston. When you bowl for BBBS, you get to enjoy a fun outing with
friends, family, coworkers, your civic group or faith group. More importantly,
you help children in Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties fulfill a
wish. |

What is it?
Bowl for Kids' Sake is a fundraiser that BBBS
has every year. Each team captain puts together a team of 5 bowlers. The
bowlers ask people to sponsor him or her. We ask each person on the team
to secure a minimum of $100 in pledges from co-workers, family,
friends, neighbors, etc. Come out to bowl on April 12th and get a
t-shirt and lunch. |
| |
|
Who Can Participate?
Anyone who secures $100 in pledges can come out and bowl. We love for Bigs and Littles to participate. A Prize is awarded to the Little who raises the most money! Individual bowlers also receive prizes based on the amount of money they raise for us. Examples include gift certificates to local restaurants, sweatshirts, and more! Bowl For Kids' Sake is also a fun way for employees of local companies to give back to the community, while having fun and building relationships with their co-workers. Companies may also participate through various levels of sponsorship.

But I'm a terrible Bowler!
So are most of us at BBBS, but we put up the bumpers on our lanes and have a blast just having fun together! It's really not about bowling at all...it's about having fun to help kids! |
| |
|
Where does the money I raise go?
All of the money raised stays in the tri-county area to support our local Big Brothers Big Sisters.
